ADP AND SALOMON SMITH BARNEY TARGET SMALL BUSINESSES

Automatic Data Processing (ADP) recently announced a partnership with Salomon Smith Barney, a member of Citigroup, under which each company will refer clients to the other's services and offer service integration and special incentives. The move is seen as part of a growing trend of business services providers aligning together in an attempt to create a one-stop shopping alternative for small business owners.

Specifically, ADP will offer clients of Salomon's Business Financial Management Account a savings on its payroll and other services offered by ADP's Employer Services' emerging business services division. Salomon clients will be able to access and make transfers to their ADP account directly.

"By combining ADP's range of payroll, benefits, and HR services with Salomon Smith Barney's full-service investment options, we feel that we can offer an unprecedented one-stop package to help small business owners grow their business," said Bud Angelus, president of ADP's emerging business services division. "Small business owners can simplify multiple accounts by routing their payroll directly through the business FMA resource."
