Enron, Financial Crisis Fodder for Stage, Small Screen
There are winners and losers in every situation -- even in Enron's collapse and the ongoing financial crisis.
Two of those winners: New York Times reporter/editor Andrew Ross Sorkin and playwright Lucy Prebble.
Sorkin, who authored the book "Too Big to Fail," an inside account of the 2008 financial crisis and efforts on Wall Street to reverse it, announced on Twitter yesterday that his book has been acquired by HBO to be made into a movie.
Lucy Prebble's play, which can be previewed in the YouTube trailer embedded below, is opening on Broadway soon -- and now Broadway.com is reporting that Prebble inked a deal with Columbia Pictures to adapt the play into a movie. She will reportedly write the film adaptation.
