SEC to Hold Free XBRL Compliance Seminar
XBRL got you down? Or perhaps you don't know what XBRL is?
The SEC feels your pain and it should, really, since XBRL was the SEC's IDEA in the first place. In an effort to help companies and preparers comply with the new rules that require financial reports to be filed using eXtensible Business Reporting Language (that's XBRL), the SEC will hold a free public seminar (webinar for you New Yorkers) at 1 p.m. on March 23 to answer frequently asked questions on the topic. SEC staff will also present information to help corporate filers understand how to comply with the rules.
In preparation for the event, the SEC is asking you to send in your XBRL questions or topics to this e-mail address: Ask-OID@sec.gov.
