CPAs on Tax Panels Offer Help to Communities

Busy season is here, but that hasn’t stopped CPAs from helping their communities as volunteers on the NYSSCPA’s annual tax panels.

CPAs cooperate with local newspapers on the call-in lines, answering tax questions from the public at several panels around the state. Newspapers cover the tax panels and the write about the questions received, often providing publicity for the CPAs who participate. Five panels are taking place at the following newspapers this year:

Westchester Business Journal, Feb. 20, 9 am – 3 pm
Buffalo News, March 18 from 5 – 9 pm
Syracuse Post-Standard, March 22 from 9 am – 1 pm
Daily News, March 23, 24 and 25 from 10 am – 4 pm
Poughkeepsie Journal, March 24 from 5 – 8 pm

Volunteers are still needed for the Poughkeepsie Journal, Buffalo News and Daily News panels, in particular. If you are an NYSSCPA member and would like to participate, please contact Cara Patterson at cpatterson@nysscpa.org.
